Just got Back

I apologize for the lack of posts lately, but I had to take a vacation. Okay, maybe “had” is a bit strong. Anyway, we just got back from Cancun, Mexico, and have a crazy busy weekend, but we’ll get back to the posting shortly.

What do photographers do when they are between clients? They play with pictures, of course. I expected to be taking a trip this weekend, but wound up with car troubles, so I had some extra time. Since I also ride a motorcycle quite a bit, it was natural for me to use that for some imagery. I needed a new desktop for my computer, so I did this…

I realize I am not exactly amazing at this blog thing, but the simple truth is this: I’m just never sure what to talk about…what people want to hear. Sure, I could just arbitrarily post image after image, etc. but I just have to ask (and I have always wondered) How do people find the time to spend SO MUCH TIME on their blogs?

I guess it all comes down to priorities, and what is important to YOU. It might sound silly, but who am I to assume that people *want* to hear/see what I have to post? Personally, I rarely read blogs, and because I don’t really read them, I guess it’s hard to put an emphasis on my own… I have never been one to talk about myself really… Don’t get me wrong, I like reality TV and all, but in my personal life, I am pretty private. Having a blog, in some way, contradicts who I ‘am’.

So, readers, if there still are any at this point… Please tell me what it is you want in a blog. What makes it information worthy of reading vs. empty ramblings of daily life that I just can’t bring myself to write about..?

**BUT**

Since I have been asked to post, however, I am happy to do so, I just want to hear what you want to hear… Maybe I can turn the corner with this thing and make it something that I love instead of something that I avoid…

We went downtown this evening for the car show, and to take the kids to the dance at the Mint Festival…

It probably won’t take long to figure out where my automotive heart lies…

Our barn has fallen even more, and we have begun helping it do so.

There are a couple of major “spines” still standing and sturdy that we will have to break to bring her down the rest of the way, thus making it safe to strip and reclaim any remaining wood.

At least we get a new background out of the deal…

Lost an Old Friend Today…

This barn has been standing, and in the family, for 155 years. While it has been in pretty bad shape for several years, it has hung in there for us. It was last used as a working barn in 1978, but has been a garage and storage area since then. Having withstood countless storms, it was finally brought down by a heavy rain with decently heavy winds…

Sometimes you wanna go where everybody knows your name…

We took a short trip to Hubbardston, MI this weekend, just to get away and visit with friends. We stopped at our perennial favorite, Celtic Path:

This shop truly feels like Ireland, in style and warmth, with an eclectic blend of authentic Irish and Scottish merchandise, mostly handmade the traditional way. At a casual glance, the goods seem to be randomly scattered throughout the store, but upon closer inspection, you can see the mind of an artist at work, here…

The natural scenery is compelling as well, and provides a steady supply of steelhead for the locals…
